New gas water heater installed in my apartment and there’s soot in my kitchen?
New gas water heater installed a few days ago in my kitchen and I just now noticed there’s soot on my counters and on top of my coffee maker and refrigerator. What does that mean?
It means the pilot and gas flow adjustments aren’t properly set and are sooting up. Call your installer and have him readjust it. He could also be responsible for damages caused by soot.
