anyone have any info on coffee machines, ive been told swiss machines are better than itialian?

Depends on what kind of coffee you want to brew. Most people think you need an expensive machine to brew espresso at home, but you don’t. You can use a “stovetop” espresso maker from Bialetti. I have a three-cup “Star” model, which is a great espresso coffee maker.
If you want a regular American cup of coffee, you’ll likely get a “drip” machine with paper filters. When buying a drip machine, consider getting one that doesn’t have a glass pot. Those glass ones break easy. Also, I like machines that you don’t have to turn off when the coffee is brewed. If you have to turn it off and you forget to, your coffee is ruined. There are ones that just drip the coffee into a thermos-vacuum type of pot that keeps the coffee warm without keeping an electric burner on.
What coffee beans and roast (dark or light) you use is important. Also, for espresso you need a finer grind than for drip.
