How do you make at home…?
…a mocha, latte, frapeccino, espresso, and cappuccino with a normal coffee maker?
Your basic drink base is steamed milk and espresso. The espresso shots pulled at Starbucks, Peets, etc are super concentrated. So to make your own without an espresso make buy the beans (each place carries them). Use the normal amount you’d use for a pot but only like 1/4-1/6 the water. The rest is steamed milk. You can warm milk at home but can’t froth it without a steamer wand.
Now here is the drinks you’re interested in about 12 oz amounts:
Mocha is essentially chocolate syrup. Add the equivalent of one shot (about 1/5 oz) and the rest steamed milk.
Latte is just espresso, milk, and a dollop of foam. So one shot and the rest milk. Omit foam because you can’t make it at home. You can add any sort of flavoring you want (you can the syrups at Starbucks etc).
You can’t make a frap at home. It’s blended with a special base. Sorry!
Espresso, like I said, is just a concentrated shot of coffee.
Cappuccino is espresso, half steamed milk, half foam. You can’t make it at home because you can’t make foam. So make a latte instead. They’re pretty much the same thing.
