WHAT IS THE BEST COFFEE / ESPRESSO MACHINE TO BUY FOR MY HOME?
My husband and I go to the local coffee shop every morning and each buy a late. We want to buy a good coffee machine for home which will make nice tasting coffee, is easy to use and not too loud. We want to spend between $1000 and $2000, but there are SO many on the market that we have no idea where ti start! Can any one make any recommendations???
I bought a Rancillio Silvia. For my needs, it’s great.
It can go from cold to espresso in about 5 minutes. It’s also very consistent and easy to maintain. The only problem (if making for groups) is that it only has one heating element, so once you switch to steam, it takes a while for it to cool back to brewing temp.
A really nice step up is the Isomac Tea II. It has many improvements for people who make a lot of drinks (easier to fill reservoir & more durable pump).
If you make a lot of milk drinks get a double boiler machine. Beware, the good ones need a dedicated 220V plug. I’m not making tons of drinks, so I went with the “reduced performance” 110V model.
Don’t forget a high quality grinder. Pre-ground espresso is not as flavorful (stale). I use a Rancillio Rocky. It’s probably the best for the money.
